Darley begins in Minot, diving into the city’s creative spirit and Nordic roots:
Scandinavian Heritage Park – The only park in the world dedicated to all five Nordic countries—Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Finland. Volunteer Kae Watson and Bruce Carlson share the park’s story, including Bruce’s incredible handmade sauna.
Union Silos – Internationally renowned artist Guido Van Helten transforms Minot’s historic downtown silos into a massive public art installation.
Citizens Alley – Exploring downtown street art with Jessica Ackerman.
Atypical Brewery & Barrel Works – Sampling craft beer and local food trucks with owner Nick Holwegner and Head Brewer Eric Johnson.

White Horse Hill National Game Preserve – Darley is greeted by Colleen Graue and a herd of bison at the preserve’s entrance.
Ski Jump Hill – Kenneth Graywater Jr. of Ski Jump Adventures Spirit Lake shares why this hill—and the recreation he offers there—means so much to him.
Downtown Devils Lake – Founded in 1882, the Devils Lake Commercial District features over 45 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places (1885–1937), including the historic home of Black Paws Brewing Company. Darley explores the area with Jeb Oehlke and his Newfoundland dog, Norm.
