Darley Newman is a television host, producer, and travel expert who has spent over a decade uncovering the world’s most fascinating travel destinations, cultures, and cuisines.

As the creator and host of the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Travels with Darley and Equitrekking, the Travels with Darley podcast and Look Up with Darley, she has brought audiences along on immersive travel experiences to over 50 countries and across 30 U.S. states. From free-diving with the Haenyeo sea women in South Korea to bungee jumping from the world’s highest commercial jump in Macao, Darley combines adventure travel with meaningful cultural connections to inspire and educate travelers.

Her shows, available on PBS, Amazon Prime, iHeart, Great Courses and international networks, are celebrated for their authenticity and depth. With three Emmy Awards, 15 nominations, and features in Forbes, The Washington Post, and USA Today, Darley has become a trusted name for travel inspiration and travel advice. 

In Travels with Darley, Darley’s adventures range from thrilling activities to thoughtful cultural exchanges. She has climbed the world’s tallest outdoor climbing wall in Nevada, dived with sharks in Dubai, and cooked with Michelin-starred chefs in Belgium, England, and Hong Kong. She also shines a light on untold stories, such as biking through World War I battlefields in France, hiking to Civil War sites in Virginia and American Revolution Battlefields in New Jersey or exploring sustainable tourism initiatives in Québec. Each episode offers actionable travel tips and insights for viewers eager to experience the world.

Darley’s pioneering work in travel storytelling has redefined how audiences engage with travel advice and media. Her Emmy-winning series Equitrekking introduced the concept of equestrian travel to mainstream audiences, and her book Equitrekking: Travel Adventures by Horseback won the North American Travel Journalists Award competition for Best Travel Book. Her Travels with Darley iHeart podcast was nominated for TBEX Best Travel Podcast. 

Darley also collaborates with global brands and nonprofits, using her expertise to create engaging content that promotes sustainable tourism and nature, cultural and historical preservation. Her contributions to the travel industry extend to speaking engagements with The Smithsonian, the New York Times Travel Show, and NAB Show, where she shares insights on adventure travel, media innovation, and building connections through travel.

Darley is a graduate of The George Washington University in Washington, DC from the School of Media & Public Affairs. She has a B.A. in Electronic Media with a minor in International Business & Cultures.
