What’s New in Travel: More Ways to Explore for Those Who Serve

A new travel resource is making it easier for military members, veterans and others who serve to explore the country—and the world—with benefits created specifically for their community.

Travel has a wonderful way of opening doors—to new places, new people and sometimes entirely new perspectives. And for the millions of Americans who have served their country and communities, there’s a new resource worth knowing about.

WeSalute Travel, a new members-only travel platform from WeSalute, has launched with a focus on helping active-duty military members, veterans, military families and other service communities plan and book their travels.

Formerly known as Veterans Advantage, WeSalute has spent more than 25 years connecting the military and veteran community with benefits and recognition. Its community has since expanded to include additional groups whose careers are centered around service, including first responders, nurses and medical professionals, civil servants and teachers.

The new travel platform brings many parts of trip planning together in one place, with access to hotels, flights, cruises, rental cars, guided tours and experiences around the world. Members can explore private travel rates and compare options as they plan anything from a weekend road trip to a long-awaited international adventure.

The initiative also carries added significance following the 250th anniversary of American independence, a milestone that offered an opportunity to reflect on generations of service—and the many ways those who serve continue to contribute to communities across the country.

For travelers, it’s also a reminder that there are resources beyond the familiar booking sites that may be worth exploring—particularly for those who have served.
