Driving Route 66 in a classic convertible Outside of Chicago, Illinois, enjoy a sneak peek of our new “Travels with Darley” PBS TV episodes, including “Route 66 & Midewin” and “Ottawa & Beyond” during special upcoming screenings. And watch Travels with Darley on WYCC in Chicago on Wednesday nights in primetime at 8:30pm starting April 12th. The “Route 66 & Midewin” episode broadcasts on May 3rd at 8:30pm and “Ottawa & Beyond” on May 10th at 8:30pm. April 1, 2017 Screening in Wilmington, IL The first Illinois screening will take place at the Mar Theater in Wilmington for the “Route 66 & Midewin” episode on Saturday, April 1 at 3 p.m. at The Mar Theater in Wilmington, Ill. The address is 121 S. Main St., Wilmington, IL 60481. The original stage, ceiling, lobby and ticket booth remain intact at this 1937 movie theater just off of Route 66. The show will screen at 3 p.m. Following the screening, Midewin Archaeologist Joe Wheeler will moderate a stand-up Q&A panel featuring many of those who were involved in production. April 9, 2017 Screening in Ottawa, IL Preview both Illinois episodes of “Travels with Darley” at the Roxy Theater in downtown Ottawa, IL. Along with Mayor Robert Eschbach and OVC Director Curt Bedei, I will be attending to answer questions about the program and filming in around Ottawa! This special event takes place on Sunday, April 9 from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM at the Roxy Cinemas in Ottawa, Illinois. Free tickets are available, but you must reserve your seat. April 11, 2017 Screening in Joliet, IL A special screening of “Route 66 & Midewin” will be held on Tuesday, April 11 in Joliet at the Joliet Area Historical Museum. The address is 204 N Ottawa St., Joliet, IL 60432. I’ll be attending this screening! A reception will be held in the visitor center from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The lively, 1950s rockabilly décor will be a fun setting for a show about Route 66. The actual screening will take place at 6 p.m. in the museum’s beautifully refurbished auditorium on the lower level.
