Season Six Launching on PBS

Season Six of “Travels with Darley” is coming to your local PBS TV station with episodes from Brittany, France, California’s Central Coast, North Dakota’s Badlands, Culpeper, Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas and a special episode dedicated to delectable global foods you must try on your travels. This season brings the “Travels with Darley” series to 36 half hours, twenty-four of which are also now available on Amazon Prime and international networks, in addition to PBS. Scroll down to see the latest sampling of debut times for the new season on your local PBS TV station.

From biking country roads around Culpeper, Virginia to learning how oysters are farmed along California’s Central Coast and in Cancale, France, this season delivers diversity in experiences and cuisine. Some fantastic discoveries include the rich grasslands of Western North Dakota outside of Watford City, where you can hike to ice caves in the summer and learn about Lewis & Clark and Native American history. Brittany, France delivered with lots of adventures by sea, including learning to sail a catamaran and stand up paddleboarding along the magnificent Pink Granite Coast. California’s Central Coast found me riding in a dune buggy over expansive coastal dunes by Pismo and hiking in the lush Los Padres National Park, as well as at epic Hearst Castle and a Hwy 1 road trip.

In Culpeper, Virginia, we take an insiders tour of the Library of Congress Packard Campus, where I definitely want to be hunkered down during any zombie apocalypse. Home to the world’s largest collection of film, video and sound recordings, it houses 1.4 million individual reels of film and video tapes, 3.5 million sound records and more. Lots to watch and enjoy. We also hung out with real life moonshiners and tried a few different drinks at Old House Vineyards, a triple threat winery, distillery and brewery.

Alabama and Arkansas combine for a road trip adventure along the Gulf Coast, vintage motorcycles at Barber Motorsports in Birmingham, and Clinton history in Fayetteville. Plus, food and drink lovers will enjoy savoring cuisine and cocktails from around the world in the special “Darley’s Global Food Guide” episode, including farm to table food in New York State, barbeque, Bourbon and craft beer in Kentucky and Alabama, coffee in Ethiopia, top Cantonese cuisine in Hong Kong and more.Watch previews for all of the episodes in the new season and see a sampling of dates and times on PBS stations across the nation, below.
