Greg Barna Honored with Silver Circle Emmy for Lifetime Achievement

Longtime Travels with Darley and Equitrekking Director of Photography Greg Barna has been honored with a prestigious Silver Circle Emmy, a lifetime achievement award recognizing his incredible contributions to television. Barna will officially receive the honor in Los Angeles on October 17 during the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards, hosted by Mario Lopez in collaboration with Access Hollywood. Walking the red carpet alongside him will be the small, tight-knit Travels with Darley team, including host and Executive Producer Darley Newman, Consulting Producer Evelyn Kwan Green and Consulting Producer and Photographer Chad Davis.

For more than 15 years, Barna has brought his keen eye and artistry to Emmy Award-winning host and producer Darley Newman’s series, filming adventures across the globe. From soaring over the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia in a hot air balloon, to free diving in South Korea, to capturing the raw power of horses in Wyoming and even facing down an elephant charge, Barna has chronicled unforgettable stories with talent, creativity, and heart.

“Greg has captured it all—from the wilds of Wyoming, West Hollywood and Wilmington, Delaware, to remote trails in Ellijay, Ethiopia, and England,” said Newman. “He has not only an incredible eye for photography but also is an amazing human being. Our production team is like a family. I’m thrilled to celebrate this well-deserved honor.”

Barna’s award underscores his lasting impact on travel and adventure storytelling, helping bring authentic cultural, historical, and outdoor experiences to public television audiences nationwide through Travels with Darley and Equitrekking. His body of work reflects a deep commitment to visual storytelling that connects viewers with people and places around the world. In addition to Darley’s series through her production company, YOLCC, Barna has been lended his talents to PBS’ Cyberchase For Reel, Bill Moyers – Close to Home, Beer Geeks, Lidia’s Family Table, and Shelia Bridges Designer Living.

Newman, along with longtime collaborators Evelyn Green and Chad Davis, will join Barna on the red carpet in Pasadena for the Emmy Awards ceremony. The evening will not only honor Barna’s career but also celebrate the enduring teamwork behind some of public television’s most adventurous and beloved series.
