New Jersey doesn't always get the credit it deserves when it comes to the American Revolution. But as I've been discovering on my Revolutionary Road Trip series for Travels with Darley, this state carries more Revolutionary War history than almost anywhere else in the country — and America's 250th anniversary is the moment to finally give it its due. That's exactly why NJ Spotlight News invited me on to talk about it.

General George Washington and the Continental Army spent more time in New Jersey during the Revolutionary War than in any other state. Landmark battles were fought here. Everyday families sheltered soldiers, hid documents, and paid a real price for independence. As a New Jersey American Revolution traveler myself, I can tell you: this is one of the most rewarding, underrated road trips in the country to take right now, while the 250th anniversary is putting a spotlight on so many of these sites.
